Bunbury Hospital has been issued a WorkSafe improvement notice after five months of investigations into a “toxic” workplace culture.
The regional hospital has been under scrutiny this year after an internal report in January, published in the West Australian in February, found it had a “destructive and toxic environment”.
In it staff claimed they felt they were bullied and were unsatisfied with patient care.
In February WA Country Health Service chief executive Jeff Moffet said there had been a major overhaul of senior management and that procedures had been put in place to improve the situation.
But WorkSafe has given the hospital until September 8 next year to improve the culture and manage work-related stress.
In a statement WorkSafe said it would conduct another review once the hospital complied.
