A man, aged in his 30s, had his hand crushed by a machine in a workplace accident at Wesfeeds in Bentley on Thursday afternoon.
St John Ambulance arrived at the site just after 4pm and took him on priority to Royal Perth Hospital where he was expected to undergo treatment late last night.
The worker at an animal feed mill had to be placed in a stretcher lower down from a tall structure at the Sevenoaks Road property.
A Work Safe WA inspector travelled to the site on Thursday afternoon to investigate what went so wrong for the man.
