A man has died after he was crushed while unloading a shipping container in Melbourne. The man, aged in his 40s, is believed to have been unloading stone slabs at the time of the accident. It occurred at a Campbellfield business just after 10am on Thursday.
Emergency services attempted to free the man, who is yet to be identified, but he died at the scene. A second man was taken to hospital and is under observation.
Worksafe is investigating and police are preparing a report for the coroner.
A Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said about 25 firefighters responded to the scene, including specialist teams.
