Two seriously injured after separate workplace accidents

A man has suffered a serious head injury after falling 4 metres in a workplace incident in Brisbane this afternoon. It comes as another man suffered head and chest injuries when a water tank exploded on a job site in the state’s north.

Queensland Ambulance Service’s critical care and high acuity response teams are on scene at a location on New Cleveland Rd at Tingalpa treating a man in his 40s after being called out to the accident at 1pm.

A QAS spokesman said the man is in a serious but stable condition and is about to be transported to hospital.

Meanwhile, a rescue helicopter is en route to a man who sustained head and chest injuries after a water tank exploded on a worksite southwest of Mackay.

Emergency services were called to the workplace off Suttor Developmental Road and Kemmis Creek Road in Hail Creek at 1.40pm.

The man is in a stable condition and being treated by paramedics.
