SafeWork NSW welcomes 35 new inspectors

SafeWork NSW is pleased to announce the graduation of 35 SafeWork Inspectors from the New Inspector Training Program, who are set to play a vital role in ensuring the safety of workers on job sites across the state.

Late last year, the Hon. Minister Sophie Cotsis joined Head of SafeWork Trent Curtin, at the NSW State Library to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the new SafeWork recruits.

Each of the 35 graduates specialised in a select number of different fields SafeWork regulates as part of their Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection). These include construction, health and safe design, chemicals, explosives and safety audits, investigations and emergency response.

These Inspectors will be based across the state in both metropolitan and regional locations, ensuring communities have timely responses to incidents and requests for service by Inspectors with local knowledge and experience.

The 35 recently graduated Inspectors were joined by a further six experienced Inspectors who graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection).

These recent graduates will continue to ensure workplaces across NSW uphold a high standard, and workers return home safely to their loved ones at the end of every shift.

Head of SafeWork Trent Curtin said: “Our inspectors are on the front line of providing safe worksites across the state and we cannot thank them enough for their commitment to safer and healthier work in NSW.

“We wish our 35 recently graduated inspectors the best of luck in their new careers and celebrate the ongoing commitment and dedication of our six Inspectors who graduated with an Advanced Diploma and thank them for continuing to develop their skills to provide safer workplaces across NSW.”
