A man has been raced to hospital after severing his hand at a Baiada chicken factory this morning.
NSW Ambulance sent three crews and a specialist medical team to Baiada Beresfield around 8:45am, following reports of a workplace injury at Baiada’s chicken processing plant.
Inspector Mark Gardiner says paramedics treated the man, believed to be in his 30s, and took him to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
“This was a very gruesome injury,” said Mr Gardiner.
“We have been responding to a lot of workplace incidents of late, we need everyone to be more vigilant when at work and look out for their colleagues.”
