A man has been critically injured after being crushed between a vehicle and a wall in Smithfield, Cairns.
The 59-year-old customer was at Reece Plumbing on Mount Finnigan Court, just after 7am on Tuesday when he was pinned against a wall by a vehicle.
“I believe he was walking in front of a car, another car has hit that car and has crushed him between the wall,” a spokesman for Queensland Ambulance Service said.
The man was quickly freed before two ambulance crews arrived on scene.

He was treated by paramedics for potentially life-threatening injuries.
“He had significant pelvic and abdominal internal injuries so he was taken to Cairns Hospital quite urgently for further care,” Queensland Ambulance said.
The driver of the vehicle was also assessed by emergency services, but didn’t need to be taken to hospital.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has also launched an investigation into the incident, to try and find out what went wrong .
The man’s condition has improved from critical to stable – but he’s expected to spend at least the next few days at Cairns Hospital.
