WorkSafe has charged a former director of a glass supplier and installer after two workers were allegedly bullied.
The 29-year-old Docklands man is facing two charges under section 144(1) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for failing to take reasonable care as an officer of Melbourne Glass Solutions Pty Ltd.
WorkSafe alleges the former director’s failures caused the company to contravene sections 21(1) and 21(2)(a) of the OHS Act by failing to provide or maintain systems of work that were safe and without risks to health.
The charges relate to alleged repeated, unreasonable bullying behaviour by the former director at the company’s workplace in Tullamarine between March 2019 and May 2021.
The matter is listed for a filing hearing at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 19 April 2023.
