A Queensland man has been electrocuted in a workplace accident at Ball Bay, north of Mackay.
The 50-year-old worker was killed while digging a trench about 1pm on Wednesday, 7NEWS understands.
Three Queensland Ambulance Services units responded to reports of an unresponsive man at a private property on Cape Hillsborough Rd.
The man died at the scene.
Four Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews also attended to disconnect the power at the property.
Investigation launched
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland confirmed a “joint investigation between WHSQ and the Electrical Safety Office is now underway into the incident that occurred at a property in Ball Bay”.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner, a Queensland Police Services spokesperson said.
QPS is assisting WHSQ with the investigation.
