A man has been taken to hospital after his leg was trapped in rock crushing machinery in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to Boral Quarries in Emu Plains about 1pm to reports of a workplace accident. The worker, a man in his 40s, was trapped in machinery from his ankle.
Fire and Rescue NSW freed the man and moved him onto a stretcher using a ladder platform vehicle. He was treated at the scene by paramedics for a serious ankle injury and taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.
SafeWork NSW said it was responding to the incident at the quarry site.
“No further comment is available at this time,” a spokesman said.
Boral Quarries did no respond to a request for comment.
