A factory worker has tragically died in an accident at Dandenong South.
It’s understood the 47-year-old man suffered catastrophic head injuries after he was struck by an attachment of a rubber extrusion machine on Wednesday.
The death brings the state’s workplace fatality toll to 19 for 2021, with three people sadly losing their lives in May.
Last Thursday, a 74-year-old farm worker died after hitting his head on machinery when a number of hay bales fell at a property at Binginwarri, Gippsland.
Three days earlier, a 40-year-old man died after he was struck by an overhead boom at a St Albans construction site.
All deaths are being investigated by WorkSafe.
