A teenager has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a workplace accident in Sydney’s south-west.
SafeWork NSW today confirmed in a statement that a 19-year-old male worker was injured after a falling stack of MDF timber sheets fell onto him on Clements Avenue in Bankstown.
“SafeWork NSW is investigating after a 19-year-old male was injured following an incident at a workplace in Bankstown this morning,” the statement said. “SafeWork inspectors are attending the site and the investigation is ongoing.”
It’s understood the stack of timber that fell onto the teen may have weighed up to 300kg.
He has since been transported to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition with head injuries.Police also remain on the scene at the man’s workplace.
