Police have been told two men went into the store on Minerva Road just after 9pm Saturday.
One of the offenders was armed with a gun and demanded cash, while a second male started to steal alcohol.
A scuffle broke out when a second staff member tried to intervene with the offenders running off with alcohol.
A 53-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
