Man taken to hospital after serious workplace incident

A man has suffered serious facial burns and lacerations in a workplace incident in Adelaide.

Paramedics rushed to Corporate Health Group on Eastern Parade, Gillman, just after 11am on Thursday.

A spokesperson for CHG, which offers physiotherapy and occupational therapy services, said the incident did not happen at the clinic, the patient was just taken there. The clinic then called an ambulance.

The man, of an unknown age, suffered the injuries using a machine.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Fire crews and SafeWork SA inspectors were in attendance at the site.

CHG is in a heavily industrialised area.

Tradie Ashton Goddard said he saw an ambulance at the scene about 12.00pm.

“At the clinic today when I was dropped off there was an emergency vehicle there,” he said.

Mr Goddard was waiting outside the clinic after a minor workplace injury on his hand.
