The 32-year-old delivery truck worker has lost his leg and is now fighting for life in a terrifying ordeal on Thursday. The delivery driver was unpacking the truck when a Toyota Tarago crashed into the back of it crushing him against the truck.
He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition. It is understood he is undergoing emergency surgery.
The Tarago driver was uninjured and left the scene with police.
Police cordoned off Coffey Rd as Major Crash officers worked to piece together how the incident occurred.
Local resident Mischa was at home waiting for a delivery when he heard a “loud bang and extremely loud scream”.
He ran outside and “saw the guy lying unconscious face-down” and called triple-0.
“It was pretty messy … he lost his leg,” Mischa told 7NEWS.
“The driver was sitting on the grass … she was traumatised, she was just screaming.”
The victim’s employer, The Furniture Gallery, told 7NEWS it was concerned for his wellbeing.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Ty and his family,” the business said.
